Blood of the Beast

In darkness I am born…

In anger do I rise…

In blood I am baptized…

In hatred I endure…

And through him…

Great Lord of Lords…

…My heart is made pure.

The bastard son of a widowed dame and a wolf angel. Endelvos always dreamed of being a hero. Bullied by his extended stepfamily, Endelvos was adopted as squire by his older-half sister Robin Marion who taught him the ways of a ranger. Vos thrived under Robin's wing and for a time, it seemed Endelvos was destined to become a model ranger-knight. Then one day Endelvos' hometown of Gothenvale came under attack by raiders. To save his fellow squires, Endelvos succumbed to The Devil's Thirst, an ancient blood curse which haunts the wolf elf race with a predatory hunger for blood and flesh.

For his horrifying actions, Endelvos was banished from home. But at the last moment Endelvos' eldest brother Balin offered to help. Balin needed a squire and the city of Karth yearned to be liberated from a tyrannical family of blue dragons. Hoping to prove to his family that he's not a monster, Endelvos leaves home to join Balin and his party of adventurers as they make the perilous journey to Karth.

But out of all the myriad dangers without. There no dragon or monster which compares to the thirsting beast within. A beast which threatens Endelvos' soul with the lure of eternal damnation.

Author's Note

I am currently writing this story a graphic novel script. Although subject to change, if drawn (or writen) to the current draft. Blood of the Beast will have graphic and disturbing places that are in vein with the Berserk franchise. This story will explore the twin blood curses that haunt the wolfelves, The Devil's Thirst and Devil's Rage as well as the innately evil nature of the wolfelf race.

Blood of the Beast is also going to delve into how the Wolf Angels overcame this beast within through the teachings of the Archangel Ariel and the heroic sacrifice of their Archfey progenitor Kitsakuma during the last battle of the Shattering, The Assault on The Twilight Gates.

Without the Beast there can be no Angel and from a narrative standpoint I want to portray the pre-Ariel wolfelves as complete monsters. A godless barbarian horde of thieves, murderers, cannibals and rapists more depraved than the goblins in the Goblin Slayer franchise.

When companies like Wizards of the Coast censor slavery in their games because of racism and when the current day pop culture embraces relativity which doesn't even believe in objective evil. I want to hammer home the fact that the wolfelf race IS OBJECTIVELY EVIL by nature and how through great effort, sacrifice and faith they overcome it, becoming at their best one of the most noble and heroic peoples in all of Exodia.

For with the temptation to commit great evil comes with it the power to commit great good.
